I have just got a Audiovox SMT 5600 windows mobile 2003 se. Active sync
works fine, but when I go to open the mobile device using either the my
computer explorer, or the explorer button to transfer files like MP3 or
video, it keeps giving me an error message that reads:
Critical communications services have failed to start. Try resetting the
mobile device, and then connect again.
Spent some time on the phone with a tech, but that did not help, I have
reset the device, installed active sync 3.8 and made sure all services in my
computer were set to the defaults. The tech says I need to reformat and
reinstall windows, but I don't want to go through all that for a cell phone.
Please help.
