Machine will not boot. Just the monitor gets a message about the
signal and says that the monitor is good. Sometime it just beeps a
series of long beeps non stop with about a one second break in between
beeps. Other times it does not beep at all...
When I first tried to see what was wrong a few times I would get the
screen that said WIndows was not shut down properly and to choose a
method like last known good etc. I tried last know good first and then
all other choices. Only get the message on the monitort that signal is
good check pc.
Oh, my son has a fancy vido card. I tried removing the card and
hooking the video to the vidio connector on the motherboard with no
change in results.
Not sure if this is hardware or software related.

It is not software, the system has some significant hardware
stability problem of one sort or another. Examine the
motherboard for failed capacitors and if you have a
multimeter, take power supply voltage readings. For awhile
it was fairly common for eMachines' power supplies to die
prematurely, and having a "fancy video card" in a box with a
PSU that may have only had enough (long-term viability)
margin for powering it with integrated video, might
accelerate it's demise.
Inspect the cards and cables, if anything looks amiss then
reset those. Check battery if possible, and clear CMOS (use
jumper or remove battery for 10 minutes, either way with AC
power disconnected or turned off).
