I have a usb scanner and I want to connect to computer without having
them connected by a cable.  Is there something I can plug into my usb
port that would receive a signal from a device 30' away thats also
connected by usb but to a device that transmits.

It might seem like a good idea but it's a bad idea because
the scanner needs a good speed wired connection or else it
would have to keep stopping during an scan (as the higher
resolutions and bit depths that modern scanners support, is
generating data faster than the reasonably expected
performance of a wireless USB link).

USB via UWB (ultra wide band).

WUSB. 480 Mbps at two meters, 110 Mbps at 10 meters.

Impressive press release...

Bad bad performance... Can even get a cash back refund.

Driver released Mar 2007 from Belkin. Reviews on Amazon are later than that,
so may include whatever improvement is in the driver, if any at all.
