I have a HP Laser Jet 1100 printer which has a very weird connector port. It
is not a standard Centronics but a bit smaller connector. Can anyone help me
to identify its name? Basically, I would like to buy a wireless printer
server, but they come with wheather USB or regular size Centronics
connectors. Can anyone advise what is the best solution to make it work?
Re: weird printer connector
From what I've seen I suspect your printer has the 25 pin connector for
parallel printing. With that in mind I would go to a site like
(I have not bought anything from here myself.) or to a good computer store
and buy a 25 to 36 pin adaptor cable and use a print server for that
supports parallel printers.
If you are not printing from XP devices you need to make sure that the print
server comes with software drivers to support the OS on the machines you are
going to print from.
