Built a system that has been runnung for at least four years. Athlon XP
3200+. I have a Quadro FX 3000 workstation card that is at least three years
old. What is happening now is when I click on an Icon to open a program I
sometimes go to a dead screen with the message 'no signal'; or the monitor
reverts to a lot of jibberish with no picture. This is not good because I
can't shut down normaly and it is happening more frequently as time goes on.
Does that sound like the card is on it's way out? I hate to think that
because it is an AGP and they are hard to get. Maybe I should just bite the
bullet and upgrade the mobo to a PCIe? I do mainly CAD work, solid modeling
etc. The monitor is a westinghouse 22" WS LCD maybe a year old. If it was
the monitor I don't think I would see the no signal message. Thanks.
