Bought one of these and having trouble. Tried two disks and neither
works. The 80GB (set as Master) is recognized by Windows (XP) in "device
manager" but I can't get it to show up in Windows Explorer with a drive
letter, which renders it useless. Any suggestions? I believe I am trying
thru' a USB 1.0 port and not USB 2.0 (device is supposed to be
compatible with both).

Re: USB - IDE adapter

You need to assign a drive letter.
Controlpanel/administrative tools/computer management/storage
disk management right click the drive and assign a drive letter.
