old Toshiba laptop to run it. I have a new HP laptop without a com port. I
purchased a USB to COM port adapter but it does not work. It communicates
and draws some of it right but also puts in a lot of spurious lines. I
tried the adapter on the Toshiba with exactly the same bad results. The HP
has XP home and the Toshiba has XP Pro.
Anyone have a similar experience and perhaps found a solution? I'm
wondering if a different brand adapter might work or is that just the nature
of the beast?
TIA for any help
