How do I know if my PC supports USB 2.0?

Re: USB 2.0

Read the manual and the computer specifications.

Generally speaking any computer produced in the past 3 years has at least
one USB port. However, it's helpful to do the a little research.

If you can't go to that degree then go into the Control Panel, System
Folder, Hardware Tab, Device Manager, and then scroll to the bottom of the
devices shown and expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers. If you see
listed the word "Enhanced" for any of the USB controllers then you indeed
have at least one USB 2 port available.

Plug a known USB2 device into the port and it will whine if its only 1.1

Best with WinXP SP1 or Win2K SP4 or greater...

If you install WinXP SP1 or SP2, and your "Enhanced"
entry is missing or throws some kind of error, there
is this procedure. Basically, it involves deleting the
USB entries in Safe Mode, and allowing Windows to
re-enumerate and load drivers, on the next normal boot.
