I found a used UPS that seems to be made by PCM as model KIN-800AP.
It has two 12V batteries labeled GP1272 F2, and they show 12V across
poles. It fires up fine when plugged to AC outlet, and runs my
computer fine. When I disconnect AC to simulate an outage, it only
runs off the enclosed batteries for about 5 minutes before shutting
down my computer.
I figure the batteries have low capacity, whatever the reason, and I
can order them on web about 20 buckos each. I notice there may also
be a charger call a PSC-12800A-C for $38, but I question if this UPS
can even use this or any other charger.
Anyway, I wonder if anyone out there has any experience with this UPS.
If so, can you advise whether and what I should buy to make this
thing usable? The batteries? The adapter/charger? Or maybe I should
Thanks for listening.
