of my Athlon 3200 & all the parts. It works. The thing that bugs me is that
on every boot it auto detects the IDE drives and it takes a couple of
minutes. Is there a setting I'm missing in the bios to stop this behaviour?

There is a manual here. On page 36, I can see the four "slots"
for IDE drives listed. For the slots that aren't being used,
perhaps you could set them to "disabled". That sometimes
helps speed up drive detection. But it also means, if you
add another hard drive in the future, you'll have to go
back to that BIOS page, to set the detection back to
Auto or whatever.
As far as I know, that is all the storage it has, just the
two IDE cables for up to four drives.
