This isn't really a computer hardware question, but I guess it's
adjacent enough for me to overlook that...

Those Red-White-Yellow RCA patch cables that are used to connect
composite a/v devices: Are are three lines in the cable interchangeable?
  In other words, if I had a single line, say for the *audio* right
(red), could I use it two connect two composite *video* (yellow) devices?

I've always sort of assumed that was the case, but up until this point
never had to rely on that speculation.

Yes, they are all basically 75ohm cables.

The video (yellow) cable usually has better shielding, but otherwise they
are the same.
