didn't resume from S3 Sleep mode properly. The drive disappeared from both
and Windows Explorer and required a complete reboot to bring the drive back
so I returned it.
Some people get around the issue of disappearing drives by changing the SATA
AHCI to IDE (which disables features like NCQ and Hot-swapping) but that
isnt an option with my motherboard.
I have Samsung F3 drives in the master slots and the DVD-RW would have to
plug into one of the slave slots.
So does anyone know of a SATA DVD-RW (not bluray or HD) that'll function
happily with AHCI + NCQ and all that and resume properly from S3 Sleep?
Re: need SATA DVD-RW that works okay with S3 Sleep
there's no option to switch between AHCI and IDE mode if thats what you
I know some people have used that to bring back disappearing drives but I
dont have the option in my Bios.
So I need a DVD-RW that can function on the same controller as a hard drive
with AHCI, NCQ and all that enabled.
