First try just unplugging it from power, leaving it off for
a few minutes then restore power and try it again.
Did it always do this or formerly work properly and then

the buttons and/or do they feel looser with more play than
There's not likely to be a quick solution, you'll need to
disassemble the monitor and see if there is any problem
evident. If it is under warranty then return it for
warranty replacement instead, and if a CRT instead of LCD,
consider if you are competent to work inside a monitor or
should take it to a repair shop.
