Re: Microsoft wireless KB/Mouse receivers compatibility
This is the only one I know of, that seems to get
used from one product to another. And Logitech didn't
always do it this way.
If any other company is using this concept (re-usable
receivers), they're being quiet about it. Generally,
the only safe bet is to use the receiver that comes
in your Microsoft combo keyboard/mouse kit. Then you
know you're covered. But that won't do PS/2 for you.
I don't know if anyone bothers with dual-mode
connectors any more or not. I would expect your
average product to be using USB.
Your question is probably centered around the usage
of a KVM with a wireless keyboard/mouse, which would
be even more difficult to get right. You will need
deep pockets, and have lots of time and money to waste,
to get that sort of thing working properly. KVMs
have always been witchcraft.
