I've been using a Linksys 2-port KVM for several years and it still works
great. Moving along with the times, I've now switch to a new machine and
installed Vista Ultimate 32, and bought a new LogiTech wireless
keyboard/mouse. The wireless receiver has a USB connector, but came with an
adapter so it could be hooked to the PS2 port on the KVM. It works, but the
problem is the SetPoint software LogiTeck supplied does not work as
advertized. There is supposed to be tabs in the dialog for setting keyboard
and mouse parameters. The mouse tab doesn't appear. The Forums at LogiTech
show a lot of people having this problem with this, and LogiTech's response,
amoung other things, is to say "we don't support KVMs." So to looks like
the setup program isn't communicating vwry well with the mouse through the
KVM. At that point I took the LogiTech set back.
I looked at the Microsoft wireless keybaord/mouse sets and they all say
"USB only." That probably means they don't even let you use a USBto PS2
adapter, so I couldn't use it all.
Does anyone make an inexpensive wireless keyboard/mouse that will work with
my KVM? If not, what are my options?
