Re: INTEL 65NM TECHNOLOGY - POWER MANAGEMENT ISSUES
What a buncha goofs at Intel...
This page lists the various processor numbers.
Under Pentium D, the EIST column contains tick marks for the
900 series. Most people would think a tick mark means "fully
meets this specification". Yet, there is a note at the bottom
of the page:
"Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology for specified units of
this processor will be available in the 2nd quarter of 2006.
See the Processor Spec Finder at http://processorfinder.intel.com
or contact your Intel representative for more information."
I guess that means if you buy the processor now, Intel will swap
you a good one in Q2/2006 :-)
I think the advice they offer, to check
http://processorfinder.intel.com is a good idea. On
there, if you list the Pentium D processors, they give
the status for them.
I hope this means they'll have the guts to issue a different
model number for the fixed designs later in the year.
Is that the info you were looking for, or were you more interested
in "do they run hot" ?
