I purchased a used IBM Switch (8275-324). It has a password and I need
to know
if anyone knows how to do a password recovery on it. It is not
at the factory
default of "admin".

Looking at on "IBM 8275 Ethernet Switch " turned up .
Their publications link shows a manual at .
Search in the PDF on "system reset".

The default admin password is blank.  That didn't work?  Page 6-5 says,
"Contact a user who has read/write access to reset the password. If this
fails, contact IBM Support."  So IBM must know of the reset procedure or
has a backdoor password.

So is the seller dead that you cannot simply ask them what they used for
a password?

For e-mail, remove "NIX" and add "#LAH" passcode to Subject.

Re: IBM Switches

Found a manual for an 8275-416 (could not locate a 324). It says the user
is "admin" and a blank (null) password.  The manual is at :

Hope this helps....John
