In work we have a machine that only has a floppy disk, and no harddisk. I
know the obviouse answers, fit a harddisk inside etc, but thats not what i
want. What i want to know, is if there is a floppy to harddisk converter.
either so that i remove the connector going to the floppy and use a
connecter to connect it to a hard disk, or is there a floppy with a wire on
it that then connects to the harddisk if you see what i mean.
sounds mad, but just asking

No, a floppy controller cannot handle a hard drive. At most
you might be able to hook up something like a zip or similar
cassette drive that is specifically designed to run from the
floppy controller. That is, if this "work... machine" is
supportive of that, I tend to wonder if it's a standard
system to some extents since it didn't even have a HDD...
making one wonder if it even has IDE ports else why the
question about floppy?
