Didn't you just ask this?

Does it get detected as the right size in the BIOS? If so it's not a
firmware issue.

What happens if you go to Disk Manager? Do you see an
unpartitioned/unformatted drive there?

Sorry for dual post, not all posts got pulled so I figured my first
post got lost.

Well, in BIOS it just gets detected as something else (Maxtor N40P).

As I said, system does not recognize it anymore, so Disk Manager
doesn't see it.

Are you in need of data recovery? Or do you just want the drive to work

If it's the former, seek professional assistance. There are many
companies that will do this. Rates vary depending on many factors.
