have had no problem. I connected the Optiplex 760 I am playing with
to the same KVM, using the 760's DVI connection. It started up and
displayed fine. When I got the 760 the way I want it (with XP SP3),
I next tried to instead connect a second DVI monitor to it - using a
separate DVI cable directly connecting that monitor to the 760. It
displayed the XP desktop, on the second monitor as expected, but a
message showed saying:
INPUT SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE
, but then the message soon disappeared, and the 760 then worked fine.
I turned everything off, and reconnected the 760 back to the KVM. Now
Nothing! The 760 appears to boot up okay, but now there is no display
- just a message:
DVI POWER SAVING MODE
The 760 still works and displays fine on the second monitor though.
What have I done? or undone?
Re: Dell Optiplex 760 Problem
I added an old XP machine to the mix on the KVM. Once I displayed
video from all three machnes to both monitors, things seem fine now.
Not sure why. When I removed the XP machine, the problem did not
recur. Just thought I should post this in case anyone is interested.
