I have a Compaq Presario S7390UK which has not been used for a while
and won't boot up.
I replaced the BIOS battery. When the PC is switched on, the fan
starts and the keyboard lights flash briefly, but the hard disk does
not start up. Thee is no light from the CD-ROM
The monitor displays "Going to sleep"
I made the hard drive a slave and put it into another PC which
recognises it as drive D and I can read the files and run the
So is it the motherboard? Or are there any other checks I can make to
identify the fault?
