It can still be useful, being a laptop there is more
difficulty hooking up an alternate backup/restoration source
so if the image is there it will cover windows related
problems at least, then this back can also be put elsewhere
to cover the possible failed-drive issue.
The problem now is that the drive is one NTFS partition.
With partition magic he might boot a floppy, resize the NTFS
partition smaller, create an extended partition and a FAT32
partition in the extended partition. Without partition
magic, he'll need to find another utility that can do same
thing (none come to mind at the moment).
