Re: AMD Athlon Xp 2000+ (1.67) cpu VS P4 1.4GHZ cpu
The Athlon is significantly faster at (most things) and
quite a bit faster at some others. A P4 1.4GHz is among the
worse CPUs intel has ever released as it wasn't much faster
(and sometimes slower) than a P3 1GHz. It's also slower
than most Tualatin Celerons except at higher memory
bandwidth intensive applications.
Not applicable. Reliability has practically nothing to do
with which CPU you choose. Buy decent motherboard, power,
fans, test the memory and other subsystems.
Safe for what?
Do not turn an Athlon upside down and step on it barefooted.
Don't do it with a P4 either.
