Anybody know why I'm getting a message that this app/window isn't shutting
down when I try to shut down windows?

This is a known issue. On some computers, the indexer takes longer than
expected to shut down, and Windows gets impatient (you probably would too).
Unfortunately, if you click "End Now" - this can lead to corruption in your
index, which will cause WDS to have to repair the index the next time your
computer starts up. So until we release a fix, I'd recommend letting it
close on its own if you can.

Thanks for the update. Does right clicking the tray icon and closing help?

Yeah it should. I do that sometimes on my laptop (other comps don't exhibit
this problem), guess we could just tell people to do that :)

Wanted to add that I get this problem as well. It does eventually close;
taking 30-45
seconds on a high-end desktop machine. That's unacceptable. This is a
clean machine, with very little else running except for a mouse utility. I
occasionally get the message on my laptop as well, but not always. It
always happens on the desktop machine. Both machines have the "Prioritize
Indexing" option turned off.

It's also causing warning events to appear in the Application Event log
about the service not allowing the users profile to close properly. I'll
write a separate post about that.
