is there a better/another way to make elements "unsuccessful" than to
make them nameless?

Omit them? I'm curious what they're there for. You might get a more
useful reply if we know what functionality you expect from them.

you need to explain this a bit further.... what are you trying to do? what
does 'unsuccessful' mean in this context?

Two other ways. Disable the controls (with the disable attribute) or
put them outside FORMs. On successfulness in general, see:

http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/interact/forms.html#h-17.13.2
