Hello, I have a Treo 700 and I cant figure out how to export the text
messages in my phone to the computer. I dont see a way within activesync.
Is there a way to do this without purchasing something extra?

Thank you

1, please post Pocket PC-related q's to microsoft.public.pocketpc
2, you have several choices; I recommend the free PIM Backup and / or the
commercial Jeyo Mobile Companion the most.

ok sorry about the post to the wrong area. I was not sure when posting and
this is my first post and there were so many to choose from...anyways

I am surprised that a backup tool has to be used for export of text
messages. I have never used one before.

I have one more question. What is the PIM backup used for besides export of
text? anything else I should know about the PIM tool before install and does
it need to be installed in the phone?

thank you for the help

PIM Backup is a REALLY excellent utility (no wonder I've nominated it for
the 2007 Best Software Awards), it can be used for a lot of other uses as
well. See my tutorial at

Werner,

Thank you for the information. I went to a site to dl the PIM backup tool v
2.5 http://www.freewareppc.com/database/pimbackup.shtml
but once I clicked on the executable is said that it is not a "Valid Win32
application".

I checked your site out and I could not locate a link to dl the PIM
application. I am not sure if the v2.5 is the correct one. I am running
WinXP Pro.

Do you happen to know what the issue could be?
