I am getting the following error servre can't be reached support code
80072eff after the following scenario:
I am syncing through usb cable to some public folders on the exchange server
using pocket mirror. Then the E-mail doesn't get to the device which is setup
wirelessly. If I do a soft reset it works fine but I can't do both together.
Is it even possible? I can get to owa internally and each action does work
but not without a soft reset. I am using a treo 700 wx phone from verizon
with the latest firmware. I have found some similar problems which suggested
hacking a reg key or adding one to flush the dns cache but I can't frind a
program to unlock the registry only registry editors.

Hi,
Are you using XP? If so then ActiveSync 4.5 does provide an option to allow
the wireless connection to work while you sync.

Also, are you able to browse the network while you are connected via
ActiveSync? Do you have a proxy server on the PC? ActiveSync won't provide
internet access via the proxy.

I am using XP Pro with no proxy server on hte network. Not sure if I can
browse network from phone. There is no network browser on phone just a file
browser. It seems as though after I sync with the cable to public folders and
then unplug the phone active sync still uses that connection when trying to
get my E-mail. If I do a soft reset the mail starts flowing. It seems as
though there is a dns cashe or something that needs to be flushed.

Hi,
Since a soft reset makes it work, I'd check and see if the dns settings for
the internal network and the internet are the same. If they are not then
this would explain what you see.

Hello,

I am having exactly the same problem with all our WM6 devices.
Synchronisation works with exchange from the internal network, but if we
disconnect the USB cable (= the connection with our internal LAN network),
the device switches to external exchange activesync mode (via GPRS) and the
connection fails with the same error message.
If we soft reset the device (the DNS cache gets cleared) the external
connection with the Exchange server works again.

I know there is a known problem with WM5 devices (if the Exchange server has
the same DNS name internally and externally but different IP addresses, as in
our case, see
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync&tid=ef6229b7-0564-425c-ac6c-3cda2ad2932f&p=1&mid=ef6229b7-0564-425c-ac6c-3cda2ad2932f)
but that does not solve our problem.

I have reported our problem to MS PSS.
Hope it will be solved soon.
