I got my 1000HD (1Gmem-120G HD) at the local Best Buy a few days ago
for US$379. However it's got the old Celeron M processor at 900M, no
camera, and smaller drive so that's probably why it's so much cheaper.

I just saw an Aspire One with these specs (unknown model#) today at my
local Walmart for $349. If I had seen it first I probably would have
gone for it. It seems to have better specs for less money, but I've
gotten used to and like the eee now so will keep it.

The reviews complain about poor battery life on the Aspire One. On my
first charge I got 3+ hours on the 1000HD with the WiFi on. The ads at
the store brag about 4+ hours but that never seems to be true does it.

This 1000HD has the new two and three finger sensitive touch pads (for
scrolling, sizing and bringing up menus). I'm still getting used to
this feature and am not sure I like it better than the old style.
