Hello

I already know I want an Eee PC -- everybody does. But I also want
the Acer Aspire One. Can you help me decide?

The Eee PC 1000H has already wowed us. It has 10-inch screen, 1.6GHz
Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive. However, at
$449, the price tag is not low.

The Aspire One is available in a wider range of configurations, but
for the one I want, Acer Aspire one AOA150-1570 Netbook, it has 8.9-
inch screen, the same Atom 1.60GHz Intel processor, 1GB of RAM and
120GB hard drive. At $350, that is about $100 bucks cheaper than Eee
1000H.

Which one is better? Shall I go with 10 inch Eee or 9 inch Aspire
one ? Which one has a better keyboard? I am a poor college student
and I want to use that for taking notes at school. Thanks.

i liked the feel and responsiveness of the Acer a lot more than the
EeePC. I hated the touchpad on both.....I would need a mouse to use
either.

I didn't like the responsiveness of the EEEPC when I used the SD (class 6)
to hold temps and some applications. Although I moved all applications on
the SSD and I created a RAMDISK to hold temps and Internet cache and it
really flies now.

Oh I forgot to mention about the touchpads. Well they seem okay to me. I'm
not a big fan of touchpads though. But what can you say about touchpads?
They either work or they don't. And the EEEPC touchpads works smoothly as
far as I can tell. What don't you like about them? They are smaller than all
others I have tried, but that is okay, as so is the keyboard.

I got my 1000HD (1Gmem-120G HD) at the local Best Buy a few days ago
for US$379. However it's got the old Celeron M processor at 900M, no
camera, and smaller drive so that's probably why it's so much cheaper.

I just saw an Aspire One with these specs (unknown model#) today at my
local Walmart for $349. If I had seen it first I probably would have
gone for it. It seems to have better specs for less money, but I've
gotten used to and like the eee now so will keep it.

The reviews complain about poor battery life on the Aspire One. On my
first charge I got 3+ hours on the 1000HD with the WiFi on. The ads at
the store brag about 4+ hours but that never seems to be true does it.

This 1000HD has the new two and three finger sensitive touch pads (for
scrolling, sizing and bringing up menus). I'm still getting used to
this feature and am not sure I like it better than the old style.
