I've never tried this myself, but I think I recall there being an option in
Active Sync to deal with "conflicts" and one of the options is to replace
items on the device with items on the PC. It seems like something that
stands a chance of working
If not, another possible work around is to create a new folder for contacts
in desktop outlook, move all your contacts into that folder, and then sync.
This will remove all the contacts from your device. Then on the desktop
move (or copy - in case you want a backup) the contacts back to the original
folder and sync again. I know this is not ideal, but hopefully it should at
least prevent you from having to delete all the contacts on the device
manually.
