Hi all,
To make a long story short, I've had some problems after updating to XP SP3.
Mainly, I'm having playback problems for anything recorded in a dvr-ms
format, including things recorded before the sp3 update.

The playback problem is not isolated to media center, but also windows media
player 11 and dvredit. The odd thing is that if I'm viewing a video in
either WMP11 or dvredit, it only looks distorted if its taller then about
480 pixels. If it's smaller then that, then I can watch the video just fine.

Here are some sample screenshots:
Distorted media center
Distorted dvr-edit
NOT distorted dvr-edit

Please note that this is from the same file. In fact, the two dvr-edit
screen shots were just seconds apart, after resizing the window.

I've tried rolling back from SP3, but to no avail. I wonder if somehow the
codecs were messed up as this does not affect any other file formats.

Any ideas?

What codec are you presently using for MPEG2 decoding?
