i have a question
is there a way to disable 1 tv turner on a duel tv turner setup. can i tell
mce not to use 1 of them?
i don't want it to think it can use that turner but then it can't.
not shure if the pc i am geting is 2 syngle turners, or 1 duel turner.
i don't want to go through device manager to do it because if it is 1 duel
tv turner then i would disable both.
thanks

Not sure which one you have, but my dual tuner Hauppauge PVR-500 shows in
device manager as two separate tuners.

That said, if you don't tell MCE about the second tuner, it shouldn't use
it. Go through setup.

Out of curioristy why would you want to disable one tuner on a 2 tuner card?
I would think that if you are using an antenna or cable connection that you
would want the capability to watch one program while recording another or of
recording two programs that are on at the same time.

To the group: Would it be theoretically possible to have one cable box and
one regular cable on a dual tuner? Just set the cable box tuner as your
primary tuner (requires a registry hack, I think). Obviously the second
connection wouldn't get all the channels, but hopefully in the event of a
conflict between shows on digital and analog channels, you'll get both
recordings.
