If these are similar to the 9100's they are built very well.. 4
cooling Fans.. A massive radiator system and just look all around
good.

Please log in for more thread options I'd argue some of the comments on the 9100. I've had one for about 8 months
now. It's heavy, noisy, and has lousy battery life. It uses a P4 processor
(not M or 4M). This is why it has the massive radiators and lousy battery
life, IMO. My unit has the ATI 9700 video card on it, which is great for
games, but I never play games on my work laptop. The laptop was as fast as
the desktop it replaced, but it's not good for portability. It's too heavy,
and the battery life sucks too badly (about 90 minutes). I can't even make
it through most meetings on battery only.
On the plus side, it does seem to be reasonably well built, but at 10+
pounds, it should be. Plus the AC adapter at another 2 pounds... It is
also fairly fast, and the graphics card is pretty good (and theoretically
upgradable). I believe the FSB for the memory was 800MHz, which was as fast
as any of the desktops out at the time I bought it.
It has little to do with the 9200 or current 9300, as those units use the
newer P-M processors (3 to 5 hour battery life), 533MHz FSB's, next
generation video video cards. They're thinner (the 9100 is at least 2"
thick, compared to 1.6" on the 9300), lighter (10+ pounds vs 7.8). The AC
adapter of the 9300 weighs half as much, and is much smaller. It also only
draws 90W, so it can be plugged into a car inverter. The 9100 AC adapter
draws about 150W at max power, and I've heard that the car inverter's won't
like that.
Anyways, enough ranting.

Please log in for more thread options I'm currently using the 9200 and so far it's pretty good. I'm able to play
Doom 3, World of Warcraft and several other games with little lag. The 9300
has faster memory and a better video card along with maybe a couple other
upgrades. So far I'm please to not run into any heating problems that some
earlier laptops from dell had.
