Hi,

Can anyone please shed some light on why an html document that starts
as follows:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en" xml:lang="en">

is not rendering css tags read from a file?

What baffles me is the fact that if I replace the lines above with

<html>

everything is rendered well.

I would be more than happy to post the sample document as supporing
css file.

I am using IE 7 to render the text.

Al

¿Qué?

1) Include the attribute type="text/css" .

2) Don't use XHTML but HTML 4.

Hi,

I loaded the three pages to geocities and they are working fine.

http://www.geocities.com/siliconvalley/7041/pg1.htm
http://www.geocities.com/siliconvalley/7041/pg2.htm

What baffles me is the fact that on my local computer (Windows XP) and
on a remote computer (Windows 2003) both running IIS the rendering is
not taking place correctly. The two pages above and css file can be
downloaded from the link below:

Regards,
Al

I have the attribute.

Can you please be a bit more specific on point (2) - a link would do.

Al
