That's fine (fsvo fine - W3C's annotea is very flaky) if you're happy
to separate the annotations from the page annotated.
An alternative is margin-notes integrated with XHTML source as
implemented in mod_annot. No special browser support required -
it even works OK with Lynx. See the article at
http://www.apachetutor.org/apps/annot
