corrupt profile persists kaalki 08-01-2008

I am running Windows XP SP2 Media Center Edition. For the second time in
about three weeks, my user profile has been corrupted, showing the folowing
error message:

Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible causes of this error
include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local profile. If this
problem persists contact your network administrator

The first time, I followed the instructions for creating a new profile found
in KB811151, although I noticed that it is shown as being applicable to XP
home and XP pro; Media Center Edition is not indicated.

Before I rebuild my profile again, I have two questions:
1. Are these the proper instructions to follow for my version of XP?
2. Is there any way to figure out and fix what makes the corruption problem
persist?

Thanks.

Have you scanned your computer for malware?

I scan regularly with AdAware, SpyBot and and Windows Defender. Nothing
significant has been found.

And are you sure you are getting the virus updates and your definitions are
current?
SpyBot must be manually updated, click the Update button or the Search for
Updates button.

I just checked SpyBot and got 6 new definitions.

I checked, and everything seems up to date. I'm going to build the new
profile and see what happens. Thanks for your input.
