Hi

I need to have the contacts on my PDA - I have synched with the exchange
server and all is fine. However....now that the contacts are on the PDA, I
don't want to synch them anylonger - but I want them retained on the PDA.
Each time I uncheck the box to stop syncing, they are deleted! Any ideas?

thanks

synchronize: verb: to cause to go on, move, operate, work, etc., at the same
rate and exactly together

Unfortunately this seems to be a new behavior in WM6. I assume the idea
was to make it easier for business to "retire" devices or switch them
between users easily without business info staying on the device, or cross-
polluting different users' contact lists.

There are two solutions to your problem I can think of off the top of my
head. Sync the device with your PC if it has Outlook before deleting the
Exchange partnership. As long as there's a sync relationship on the
device, it won't delete the data. Alternatively, you can backup the data
with backup software (the freeware "PIMBackup" or any of the commercial
baxkup products from Sprite, SBP, etc.), delete the Exchange partnership,
watch your PIM data disappear, then restore it from backup.
