DVD playback is not available over extenders. Only on the host MCE
machine. You probably couldn't find a V1 extender at this point. An
XBox 360 works as an extender and DVDs would be playable directly on
it.
Resources should be ok - I'd suggest a gig of RAM if you are going to
use as an office machine.
