decades now. Why do users still have to place trust
in the authors of so much commercial software?
We have gone beyond the point where the situation can
be blamed on incompetence. I think that the answer
is: because it is not possible to copy trust.
If you must trust any software you run, then
authentication of the distributor becomes important -
and it really matters where the software came from -
a situation which suits application vendors nicely."
