I am running antivirus, Spybot S&D, and PestPatrol.  Despite that I
consistently have ports open which I would like to close and keep
closed.  They are: 1) Application Layer Gateway TCP: 3001 (named:
Rewood Broker), 2) Generica Host Process TCP: 3003,3002 (named: CGMS
and RemoteWare Server), 3) Common Client User Session TCP: 3004
(named: CSoft Agent), and 4) Messenger TCP: 13440 (no name...
unassigned port).

When I have googled for assistance on the net, I have found the names
but nothing else.  No help found.  In addition, soon after logging
onto the sites which list these ports I loose my connection and must
initiate communication.

Any help in shutting these ports down would sure be appreciated.

line tool that will show what applications have these ports open.
Very helpful for tracking down open connections. It's part of the

You also might consider installing a personal firewall like Zone Alarm
to prevent unauthorized apps from connecting to the network.
