Most likely, Mark MacIntyre is right, your internet connection dropped and
your computer got a self assigned address, which ZA identified as "alien".
Possibly, it is an external intrusion attempt: Do you have wireless
networking? Your network may be subject to exploitation from neighbours. If
you don't have DHCP in your network, those "external" connections will keep
their IP, which is likely to be self assigned as well, and within the same
WLAN users may want to explore some security issues. To get some starting
points, search the web for "WLAN security", "WEP", "WiFi", "War driving",
"SSID broadcast", "VPN", "MAC address filter" and "packet sniffer".
