I am having really massive problems with spyware. i have win ME (bad
news, i know). I downloaded and installed ad-aware 1.05 and spybot and
got the updates. Every time i run either of them, Explorer crashes and
i have to restart.
Ad-aware finds over 500 "things" and then it goes to quarantine them,
but it freezes for eternity and i have no choice but to restart. Spybot
chokes up when i first begin the scan. i re-downloaded and re-installed
and re-updated with no changes in result. i say reformat and install
any comments would be much obliged and appreciated.
I am using mozilla. praise be to God for it.
Re: ad-aware problem = reformat?
Any compromised computer is, if you want to be sure, subject to complete
reinstallion from scratch. If you had massive problems, my only
recommendation for you is reformat and installation from Windows CD. If
you have much spyware there will be at least a dozen things that are dug
deep in your system that noone - software nor human - can reliable find
