In the midst of three days of national mourning for victims,
aftershocks continue to shake Sichuan Province =97 including a 6.0
magnitude earthquake early Sunday morning, the latest in a series of
several thousand tremors in less than a week =97 causing landslides,
disrupting telecommunications and blocking roads in already-devastated
areas.
Mercy Corps is on the ground assisting survivors. We have procured and
delivered critical supplies =97 such as water, noodles, milk and shelter
items =97 to displaced families who have lost their homes. We are now
coordinating plans for longer-term recovery and reconstruction, and
are especially focused on education, counseling and activities for
