can laptop speakers upgraded? i hav a compaq 2205al runing on 1.6ghz
and 512 ram. someone advise

While with sufficient ingenuity one might be able to, it's unlikely that any
significant improvement will be achievable since much of the performance of
speakers comes from the enclosure and changing the enclosure would mean
redesigning the case.

Your best bet would be a set of external speakers or a good headset.

Any reccomendations for a good set of small (easily portable) speakers
for use with a laptop?

Best are headsets, but if you are doing presentation for a small
group, I like built-in speakers in a docking station. U may also find
clip-on speakers, try the Kensington brand.

Not really--I use a headset myself, and there the range is vast.
