trying to get a treo 700w to do wireless sync with my E2k3 SP2 server. I am
having certificate issues was hoping there is a way around it. we have a
public SSL cert from starfield for *.domainname.com. my OWA is at
mymail.domainname.com and it works pretty good with the cert, but the phones
need to go to mobile.domainname.com and it will not go through. I have
imported *.domainname.com cert and the local domain CA cert onto the phone
and they show in the root store but it still will not work.

I get an error code of 0x80072F17

any ideas? I have upgraded the 700w's firmware to the latest but still no
joy.

Hi,
You need to use a cert that is for the specific IIS Server host name you are
using. Also, I did not see starfield listed in the certs. You can check
this yourself in the Settings - Root Certificates.
