Hi. I just bought a used Motorola mpx200 smartphone (it was new, just old
inventory) and I'm having a difficult time understanding this whole
smartphone thing.

I got this particular phone because my fingers are heavily calloused and a
bit numb from years of carpentry and I was having trouble using so many of
the phones with the itty bitty buttons. I had a Samsung candy bar phone
which I got as a free (after a bit of arguing with T-Mobile) replacement of
my defective Moto clamshell phone but it is so useless to me. Anyway, this
mpx200 has very nice tactile "clicky" buttons, kind of like the ancient IBM
clicky keyboards had, and a useful speakerphone (it has the speaker facing
the listener, not on the back of the phone. Wow. Concept!) so I went for
it. I figured for $50.00 I couldn't go too wrong.

So anyway I am mostly satisfied as it is, but since it has all this gee whiz
software on it I figure I ought to work with it. It is running Windowws
Mobile 2002 version 3.0

Oh by the way I should mention that I do not have the net enabled on my
phone. I don't need that as far as I know.

Questions:

I can't find anybody either at T-mobile or Motorola who knows how to make
the phone receive the system time and date. ANybody have any info on that?

Also, how do I update the operating system? I can't find any info anywhere
on the net!

Thanks
