Hi

windows sbs server 2003 with exchange 2003 sp2 , o2 xda mini s wm5, windows
xp pro w/s activesync 4.2

have copied certificates to device installed ok
can syncronise with exchange via gprs fine
when connecting to local pc on network with usb cable
activesync came up with errors

Phone shows error message:
Unable to obtain a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an
IP address in Network Settings
also
Activesync encountered a problem on the server.
Support Code: 0x85010001

have changed phone settings to
Start > settings > connections > Network cards > Remote-NDIS Host > Click
Use specific IP address
Enter 169.254.2.1 for IP address
Enter 255.255.0.0 for subnet
Enter 169.254.2.2 for gateway

this got rid of the

IP address in Network Settings

but still getting
Activesync encountered a problem on the server.
Support Code: 0x85010001

p.s. can externaly log onto company web site from pc via internet and use

Hi,
Is the external IP address of the Exchange server accessible from your
desktop? I suspect that the problem is that the internal IP for Exchange is
different than the external IP and that the dns cache on the device is
preventing it from seeing the network change.
