Please log in for more thread options Try running Dial A Fix. This is freeware at:
http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix
Run "Fix Windows Installer" and "WU/WUAU." Do not Flush Software Distribution.
Then restart machine and try to download those updates again. I had the same
problem when I had reinstalled my XP (It hadn't been a full reinstall and my
drive had not been reformatted so the XP/OS still had some issues after the
reinstall.) Dial A Fix worked for me. I also used CCleaner (Google it) and
got rid of about 1GB of old, useless files. My computer is now running
smoother and faster after using these two freewares.
Hope this works.
oscar...
p.s. If the freeware works, consider dropping some $ in the developer's tip
jar.
