I have to agree heartily that, given plz help's reply, he really should
not be trying to mess with his hardware.
My other reaction on reading his reply (before I got to your remarks)
was that he has given us *no* idea what his computer is, and thus no
way that anyone can help him.
To plz help: please note that computers vary all over the place. There
is no one answer to your questions, but dozens or hundreds. Also, as
Sven implies, read the manual...
