i'm brand new to the world of pocket pc's and smartphones, so please help!
i have a palm 700w with verizon service. when i set up the phone, i
installed the active sync software on my pc and set up the verizon wireless
syc as well. i would like to wirelessly sync with active sync. i cannot
access the schedule command in the tools menu of active sync, so i can't set
up any kind of schedule. i tried to remove the wireless sync application
from my pc, but that didn't solve anything! now i don't think i'll be able
to wirelessly sync at all!
please help!

The 700w, like all Windows Mobile-based devices, can not wirelessly sync
with a PC for "security reasons" (according to Microsoft.) Earlier WM
devices could sync over Wi-Fi or even cellular via a VPN connection.
You CAN sync wirelessly with an Exchange Server. Mail2web.com offers a
free exchange account for e-mail, calendar, and contacts, but that free
account won't sync with your desktop copy of Outlook (but you can use
Outlook Web Access ove a browser from the desktop.)

If you define an exchange server account on the device, you can schedule
a sync with it.

Correct. Inability to sync wirelessly is a "feature" of WM5! :-(
You can, however, sync wirelessly, albeit at a much shorter range via
bluetooth if you add a bluetooth dongle to your PC.

Please log in for more thread options Gee that's a shame! That was one of the things I really liked about my old
Toshiba e740, I could sync it with my desktop over WiFi. I hadn't quite
gotten around to trying this with the new PPC-6700 as Exchange Server sync
does just about everything I need (EXCEPT sync Notes!). Thanks for the
heads-up and thanks for the confirmation that it will work over Bluetooth.
