Hi,
On my T-Mobile Dash I cannot seem to make the ringer volume be at one level
for all rings. I've tried several different ringer tones and even if the
volume strip has set the volume to max when the tone is selected, the phone
still rings quietly for the first three rings and then gets progressively
louder. This is actually a great feature but when I'm at home it's nice to
hear the phone ring if I'm in the next room. Nothing about it in the
manual...

Great feature but I would like to have a constant ring level when I'm not in
public. I can see where the progressive increase is a great civilizing touch
when one is dining or otherwise around other people you don't want to
disturb. I'm just tired of missing calls when I'm at home and can't see
wandering around with the phone on my belt anytime I'm not sleeping :=)

Thanks,
Rob

There is a ring tone or two that is programmed to ring quietly at
first, then get louder. Have you tried another ring tone?

I finally got the answer from level 2 support at T-Mobile. It's probably the
last place any sane person would look:

Settings/Profiles/Menu(Edit)/Ring type:

Select the profile to change the ring within. Then use the Menu/Edit
softkey to select the ring effect wanted. The possibilities are vibrate then
ring, increasing ring, silent, ring, ring once.

I can see why it's nice to have this setting by profile instead of by ring.
Apparently I found it back on the first day of using the phone in order to
set it to increasing.

Might I gently suggest the handbook/manual for the phone describe these
options and point to the reference in the index and TOC?

Thanks!
Rob
